My story “Seven Items In Jason Reynolds’ Jacket Pocket, Two Days After His Suicide, As Found By His Eight-Year-Old Brother, Grady” appears in the April issue of PANK. It was a finalist in PANK‘s very first 1,001 Awesome Words Contest. It’s also a very special story for me in that it’s the kind of story I’ve always really liked but could never place. So big thanks to everyone at PANK for giving this little story a home. I hope you all enjoy it, and when you’re done, make sure to read the rest of the issue too.

CURRENTLY READING

Great job. I’m off to read it.
Based on your story in PANK and mine in The Broken Plate, it looks like we riffed on the same topic recently–a brother finding stuff the other brother left behind after committing suicide.
Thanks, Jason. And that is pretty crazy. Will have to check yours out as soon as I can get a copy of TBP.
I can see why you really like that story, Robert. I loved not only the listing of the items and the story behind them, but also how there’s the larger story behind them plus Grady and his brother’s “smaller” story/their relationship. Well done.
Thank you, Madeline. You’re too kind.
Wow, this is a terrific story, Robert! Really well done. Really enjoyed it.
Congrats on the pub!
Thanks, Mitzi.
